FAQ

What is Starlight?

An Among Us mod menu, put together with cheating in mind — the aim is to make running a lobby on cheats less of a chore. It ships as a single Starlight.dll and it's currently in beta, so expect rough edges and expect things to change.

How do I install it?

Starlight is a MelonLoader mod. It's a .dll, not a program — double-clicking it does nothing.

  1. Install MelonLoader 0.7.3+ and point it at your Among Us.exe.
  2. Launch Among Us once and wait. The first run takes several minutes while MelonLoader generates Il2Cpp assemblies. It looks frozen. It isn't — don't close it.
  3. Close the game, then drop Starlight.dll into the Mods folder next to Among Us.exe.
  4. Launch again. Starlight loads with the game.

Full walkthrough, folder layout and troubleshooting are in the repo README.

My antivirus or SmartScreen is flagging it.

Expected, and worth understanding rather than just clicking through. The DLL is unsigned — code-signing certificates cost real money — and antivirus engines are aggressive about unsigned DLLs that get loaded into other processes, because that's also what actual malware does. The flag means unrecognised, not proven malicious.

You don't have to take my word for it: the download button points directly at the GitHub release in the Starlight-Menu repo, so you can read the source and check the file against what's published there. If you're not comfortable after that, don't run it — that's a completely reasonable call.

Will I get banned? Is it fair to use?

Use it in private lobbies with people who know it's running. That's what it's for — you're cheating and you want control over your any lobby.

Dropping it into public lobbies is a different thing entirely: it wrecks the game for strangers who didn't agree to it, and Among Us does act on reports. If you get banned doing that, that's on you, and honestly it's fair enough.

It's broken / I want a feature.

Message me on Discord at nox.games, or open an issue on the repo. Either way, include your Among Us version, your OS, and what actually happened — "it doesn't work" is genuinely impossible to debug.

Does it cost anything? Is there a catch?

No and no. It's free, there's no premium tier, no key to buy, no ads, no telemetry and no account. The download button is a plain link to the GitHub release — there's nothing sitting between you and the file.

Ready when you are.

One file. Free. Straight from GitHub.
